He saw that hair and just assumed 80s. But I'm here to tell ya that we dragged that big hair kicking and screaming well into the 90s.

The injury to his eye happened when he was 15. He got punched in the eye fighting over a girl and his eye got scratched and stayed dilated permanently.

It is a great picture but surely not a real firefight. That said I love the idea that the gendarme are just watching, trying to decide if this is a crime or a war. "You murdered that man!" "I did not, I killed him in a totally legitimate war" "What is le difference?" "Complicated..."

As much as I love Natalie's solo work, I will always think 10,000 Maniacs as a band with her in it had a bit more magic to the chemistry. There isn't a week that goes by that I don't listen to at least one track from one of their albums. <3

When you think you've seen someone in a picture before but you're actually thinking of the shirt. I know that shirt! I had one lol
I had a pair of (super expensive) green cross colours jeans and I remember I used to wear a bright orange shirt with blue sleeves with them back in 9th grade '91😆
Also had a pair of orange jeans. And purple suede shoes haha

My favorite one of these old Camel ads, was one for Thanksgiving dinner. Every course began and ended by smoking a cigarette. Green bean casserole/Camel/ Turkey and Stuffing/Camel Pumpkin pie/Camel Coffee/Camel. The text was something like, “You’re mouth’s watering for those home baked rolls, but first, light up a Camel.”

It's funny, because that "bad" moment added so much to his mystique and alien persona that it very well could have been a sort of tilting point that ended up making him a superstar.
