The creator of Barbie was Ruth Handler, wife of the co-founder of Mattel Toys, and she did indeed name the doll after her daughter Barbara.

Wait, so that little girl in the ad is the real Barbara Millicent Martin...? Or not, I might be confused by the context of the title. Because iirc, the creator of Barbie created jt for his daughter, who was also named Barbie.... right? (Fair warning, my Barbie knowledge has dwindled as I've grown up.)

Okay, so I am not sure you are grasping what I am saying. You have a piece of literal history right there. No matter how big or how small, a picture can speak more words than anyone or anything else can. So I highly suggest you really look into preserving that photo.
