I was making $3.35 when I-got my job at McDonald’s. Times changed. Minimum wages stayed so low. Still is to low for workers. Unfair. Very unfair.
To this day McDonalds was the hardest job I ever had. I loaded 18 wheelers by myself and they never understood how I did it with ease. I told them “I unloaded trucks from McDonald’s and was a cook too. This is nothing compared to breakfast, lunch or dinner rush”! lol 😂

They literally staged a coup and tried to kill him to keep the surrender from happening and came plausibly close to success.

To be fair not a soul on this earth deserves having to share a room with MacArthur and his ego.

Dad, why did you bring me to a gay steel mill?

This is a historic photo where I'd say it'd be useful and probably not too difficult to name an exact year. Quite a, uhm, change of atmosphere in Germany over that decade. I know what year I'd guess, but it would be more interesting if I was wrong.

Fashion is weird today.
When I was in school (90s) you would be made fun of incessantly for not wearing the cool clothes.
Now my son is in school and I’m trying to avoid that for him and everyone just wears crocs and sweatpants. It’s like the “I just rolled out of bed with a 103 fever and shit myself” aesthetic is the thing.

I love to post, I just hope that I never overdo it! I like reading the comments people leave, that makes it fun. I eventually want to do a pop culture/history blog kind of thing so I kind of test ideas on Reddit sometimes.
Helburn for some reason isn’t as well known or recognized as Scavullo, Irving Penn, or similar. He took a lot of iconic images and his productivity is fairly amazing.
That was very nice of you to say, and thanks 😊
