The turbo Mustangs of that era were 2.3L fours, and the GT could be had with that engine at the time as well as the 5.0. I knew someone who had a GT Turbo back in the day.
And of course there was also the SVO from '84 to '86, but this is definitely not one of those.

It was a 1984 5.0 GT, black on black. That's all I can remember.

Was a turbo available on the GT? I think the turbos were in the 4 or 6 cyl or am I wrong? That's a GT there.

This was probably a span of about two years. He looks like he grew up a lot in that time.

Is it a 5.0 or a Turbo? Both were available that year.

Barely 18. People who grew up during the depression learned to ration to an extreme, so you're probably right that the army was the first place he ate well!

How old is he in the first pic? It looks kind of like the Army was the first place he got well fed!

If this photo was taken in the US then Steve McQueen helped make it possible. In 1963 Kim Kimball began importing Montesas to the States with the help of Steve McQueen.

Thank you! He unfortunately was in an accident when my mom was pregnant with me and had an under the knee amputation. He sure missed riding that's for sure! He still crawls under cars to wrench on them to this day though. He is still a bad ass lol

Bad ass dude! Some serious Steve McQueen vibes going on here. I grew up next to Lakewood "Thunder Valley" national motocross track in the 80's and 90's. Riding and racing moto was the shit! My body has paid a bit of a price at 40 now, but nothing beats riding. Happy Birthday to your pops!
