Rotting in the ground releases the CO2.

That's what most people don't understand about wood. It's part of the carbon cycle. Unlike fossil fuels, you aren't adding to the carbon cycle.

The big issue with wood is it's not sustainable at scale, sure there is a climate impact, but not at the level of Fossil fuels.

I was reading a study however, saying that, if properly done, a single acre of land could provide enough wood to heat a home indefinitely, I don't recall the details past that though.

My English teacher in high school grew up in punxy and his family had a bunch of groundhogs living in a purpose built basement. These groundhogs would rotate out which one was living at the library as “Phil”. He said that his friends would come over and everyone would play with all the Phil’s in the basement growing up. I always thought it was best because I never thought about Phil in the off days and the prolonged life of him/them.
