My college accepted a student last year who was 14 or 15 years old.

I don't know if they live on campus (or what the legality of that would even be). They're incredibly ambitious and intelligent but I honestly feel a bit bad for them. While they aren't as extreme an age gap as this kid; there's still a yawning chasm in life experience between a 15/16 year old and a 22 year old in contemporary American society.

Oh, baby, you're in the right state if you like trains and train history.

As others have said, the rails are not nationalized--Amtrak, unfortunately, only exists in its present form because of the freight rail industry. ~70% of Amtrak service runs on industrial rail.

If you believe it should be different, as many train nerds like myself do, we must bother our elected officials to no end, regardless of party.

I just moved in literally last month and the lease is for a year 😩 I’m debating on putting one final maintenance request in and giving the landlord a deadline to complete. If he doesn’t complete it by that time I was going to get an HVAC professional to come out and repair it. I just don’t want to end up being responsible for the $500 it’s going to cost to repair. And I agree - it makes no sense to wait to repair it as the longer they wait the more it’s going to cost. I’m just not sure what my next move should be.
