Id also add that, unless you are actively involving yourself in the drug trade, you are unlikely to have issues in the city itself. My wife works in the city, never had any issues. I also used to work in the city, and never a problem.

Judy's is great, Santander & Doubletree are fun for events, Alvernia just poured a bunch of money into their new Penn Street campus, IMAX and the Goggleworks are great. Theres also deck hockey leagues that play down by RACC, never any issues at all, and all those places are in the city itself.

Im sure if you get away from Penn Street and the business corridor, you can find issues. But I also have no idea why you'd be venturing to those places for the lolz.

My husband’s grandmother was born in one of those miner houses in Pottsville, lived her entire life there. She lived her last 12 years at Providence Place, which is a really nice assisted living place. She loved it. Gramma’s Restaurant was her favorite place on earth. Whenever we spent time with her, it felt like everyone knew everyone. That could just be because she lived there for almost 100 years, but it had a very small town vibe to it.

That being said, the hospital could only do so much for her husband, which was frustrating because they didn’t have family there to easily get them to a better hospital for frequent treatments & follow ups, etc. (we’re all in Philly area).

There’s a lot to do when you visit - big public pool, lots of hiking, kayaking, etc. Your dad might like that, too, if he’s an active senior.

I said nothing about actively pissing off the judge lol. Yes, they can choose how strict the punishment is. That strictness cannot be greater than what it would be to just sign the ticket and turn it in, unless you create some type of chaos in the courtroom.

I have experience with this. I've self represented with a 15 over charge I was obviously guilty of, got it knocked down to a 5 - 10. Generally you talk to the cop before the hearing and that's pretty much the end of it.

I've also been party to a multiple car accident that involved a roll-over. I hired representation in that case despite being "guilty by the book" and had everything thrown out other than a small, no-point fine. The judge called me in to the courtroom to give a verbal beating and felt satisfied after that.

You’re dead wrong. In the punishment phase, the judge has sole discretion over how strict a punishment you deserve.

If you reveal yourself to be the type of person who will contest a ticket even though you’re obviously guilty, you reveal yourself to be the kind of person who needs MORE incentive than the average person to dissuade you from violating again.

On the other hand, if you show up to plead guilty, but request financial consideration when it comes to the fine because of some hardship you face, the judge may lower your penalty as well.

But the idea that you can feel free to piss off the judge because the Bill of Rights exists has got to be one of the stupidest things you could believe while walking into a court room.

Others have posted how to do it, but at the end of the day the 20 day period doesn't matter. We moved from CA with 2 cars and just got it all done as we could. You do have to get your lisence first. AAA is the easiest way to get the registration done but it will take 2 trips since your vehicle is finances as explained by others here. The biggest thing to remember is that once you get it registered you only have two weeks to get it to an inspection center (basically any mechanic) to get the inspection and Emissions done
