Honesdale is a quaint town. Close enough to Scranton & developed area for shopping/outings, but also out there enough where there's farmland and rolling hills for miles. It has a small town main street with small businesses second best to Jim Thorpe. The Deleware River is 15 minutes away and the Catskills (3000-4000ft mountains) are only an hour away.

have been multiple times. I drive about 3hrs to get there, and it's worth every last bit. The most important thing is watching the moon phase, unfortunately my first trip out I made the mistake of not looking and the giant spotlight in the sky blocked the entire milky way cortex out of view.
