I read an article today that said 70% of the US economy is based on our own spending. If we have shit education and we MAKE money in the prison system, what is our future? Because yes healthcare is also a crazy system here. So if you fight enough to get an education and you can stay out of jail and you make it too where you believe you've done pretty good with the world and you're a decent person, then the country kills you because you can't afford health care to keep yourself healthy and live as an example.

He could make the trip to Harrisburg for you to expedite it, but a basic sales contract could cover you in case he doesn’t transfer the title. I basically said in mine I’d take possession of the vehicle (needed trailered), and if he didn’t produce a title to transfer to me within 30 days he refunds the deposit, reimbursed me for lost expenses, and comes and picks it up on his own time and dime. I’m no lawyer, but I’d think it hold up in small claims court, I used a template online to write one out.

>No. Why would there be something wrong with focusing on the title of a post.

Because there's more to the story than the headlines but this conversation is starting to make a lot more sense if I'm having to explain that to you.

>Don't gaslight and backtrack. I Said testing was insufficient.

You said "If the 'best help available is free air and water testing, that's pretty pathetic all around, don't you think?" in response to me pointing out that the republican representative in the area has managed to be more helpful than a Pennsylvania specific message board. Not agreeing with you isn't gaslighting or "derailing" a conversation either.

>You suggested that I meant that testing was unnecessary.

In response to you suggesting that I said it was sufficient. "If you think testing is sufficient response, you don't truly understand the problem." was met with "If you don't think testing is a necessary response do you understand what's actually at stake here?".

>OK here's your chance talk about it. Talk.

What do you think I've been doing? Have you been "listening"? Just saying "it's not enough" and shitting on the things that have been done doesn't exactly add to the discussion.

>I'm not downplaying anything. And even if I was, which I'm not, that somehow justifies calling me a that? Lmfao. Control yourself.

Saying this then following it up with "anyway, say something important here about what's being done to help" is downplaying the testing that I mentioned previously by suggesting it isn't important. Literally the first step towards determining if there were damages and it's available to everyone in the area. It's also necessary to confirm to what extent the drinking water supply was impacted in the area.

But please let's stick to the important matters of a $1,000 donation, see you next time I need someone to remind me to stay on topic.

I hadn't. Until Donald Trump got elected by Pennsylvania I also had no idea what a shit show my home state was. The one good thing for me personally is it made me start to pay attention and better educate myself on FACTS. I realized if some of the things that I saw happen during his presidency are the reality for the country, that I had to become a better citizen and a better person and more involve myself. Privatizing schools and prisons is a horrible idea for almost the entirety of the population. These things will come back to haunt us.

Education research for the last 40+ years would disagree heavily with you. Standardized testing primarily reflects the ability to repeat rote information you've memorized, and is especially useless on question types like multiple choice or mix and match columns. We also know there are plenty of students who have inhibitions to standardized testing including executive function, attention, and learning disorders - and that most of those kids are not being put into an IEP or special needs program that can fit their needs.

I know it makes sense on paper (heh) that if you can't put it on a test you don't know it. But that's not really an accurate reflection of what a student knows or how they think, there's better ways for us to go about this with evidence-based learning science

I also think there are a lot of parents out there that are overwhelmed with bad children for a very large number of reasons that none of us really need to address here. Charter schools are an answer to their prayers because they get fined if their kids are not attending school. I don't have kids and all that literally blows my mind but I do know plenty of people who in theory think this is a good idea but when you really look at it beyond scratching the surface it's obvious this is a huge scam. It doesn't matter if it's democrat or republican, poor or rich this is a fucking scam.

I'm not sure if that's an honest question or sarcasm. And that's my honest question. Anything that's for profit is only about profit. It is also obvious to me that that's what's going on with the prison system right now since it has gone to a for-profit system. You just need bodies and the money rolls in.

> What power does a PA governor have to enforce anything in Ohio?

That's from your post. Look at a map. This is a border town. It takes time to assess damage done across the border, downwind, etc. Likely requiring federal intervention. And thanks to the fucking moron in Ohio refusing to reach out to the feds, it took time to get involved.

Bothering to look at a fucking map should have revealed that it was a border town.

But do go on with your snarky bullshit. I bet it will serve you well in life.

Thanks. Seems like it varies quite a bit. The day I really "need" it is march 8th, which would be 5 weeks after the notary. Its tempting to just go get it and finalize the title stuff after the fact, because the guy definitely seems trustworthy after a lot of discussion. His FB profile looks and sounds like a rich yuppy in Montgomery county that used it to haul daffodils around his property, lol... but I REALLY don't want to end up with an untitled machine, as we use it on roads and trails that require registration and insurance.

With it being $1,000, that's nothing to a state-wide politician. He probably didn't even know they gave it to him - especially if it was over more than one year and through a PAC.

That being said, he's still not telling the truth, which shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.

I agree with all of that. What I’m saying is this little thing he said is something that could easily be something he was just wrong about isn’t necessarily lying. It’s very reasonable to think he didn’t know the PAC was at all associated with the railway. Knowing all of your campaign finances off the top your head is definitely a stretch, but it’s not really worth attacking a guy over. Especially when you’re talking about one of the worst politicians in recent memory. There are so many things to get this guy on. Why is this something to write an article about?
