Farmers have been spreading manure the last couple weeks, I’m having a tough time smelling anything else in Lancaster county tbh.

Was in Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg and Lancaster today. No odor at all. Not even wood smoke.

I'm referring to a weird odor that is spreading across the Northeast. The origin is unknown despite state and local authorities actively investigating it so, I'm trying to map out a timeline to maybe figure it out.

I want answers and I am making no assumptions as to the source of the odor.

Are you referring to the train derailment in Ohio? That was three weeks ago, and the wind was heading south-southwest and the smoke dissipated quickly.

The Salk family used to live on the property my family lives on now. Years ago one of his family members came to visit the old barn that's still there. The farm house was torn down long ago, and more recently the "mouse house" where Salk kept a lot of his research mice was torn down as well, it used to be across the street from my mom's property. We have a panel from an old truck from the Salk's with "Shalom Research Farms" still visible on it.

Some said sauerkraut, others said death or rotting take out. It was a strong chemical smell for sure.

The odor I smelled wasn't bad at first sniff or when it was weak but when it's strong it prolonged it's overpowering. It was like incense.
