What can we honestly do? They control us. We are sheep.

I just realized I do say “creek” when referring to one by its full name like “Swamp Creek”. It’s very rare that I need to use the full name though (+ calling it that just sounds weird to me) since anyone that knows me irl knows what I’m referring to when I say “the crick” because they all know where I grew up, aka next to “the crick”.

What are you talking about? I mostly see people responding with substantive comments about the topic you raised... You just wanted people to pat you on the back and be mad with you instead?

There's nothing funnier than the people driving a 12mpg brodozer complaining about the gas tax.
You can't choose whether or not to heat your house, but you have complete control over what it costs to gas your shitheap up.

Last I checked, gasoline that goes into your car isn't a utility.

All of that is the result of inflation. And higher interest rates to combat inflation.
Property taxes go to pay for bonds (with high interest rates now) that are needed to do any municipal projects.

Literally the only things I know about him are he single-handedly made it possible for PA homeowners to get up to $50K for home repairs and now he wants to give us all another day off. He’s all right by me

I think Title IX compliance is on a school by school basis. So if High School A wants to add girls wrestling they could pair it with boys wrestling or similar?

Your Facebook Grandpa post is indistinguishable from what people were saying in the 1980s about food stamp recipients. Impressive.
> 90% of the transactions I see are straight up abuse.
Pennsylvania has been recognized in the past by the federal government for running a tight ship with regards to SNAP fraud, you're just seeing what you want to see, and you made it quite clear what you think is abuse:
> it seems like everyone and their brother has an EBT card with high balances, most of which can't speak a lick of English
You think that abuse is when people who aren't like you receive benefits.

Just wait until they start throwing people off the expanded Medicaid rolls come (IIRC) April. Rural healthcare in this state was heavily dependent on Medicaid before the pandemic and it's even more so now.

Reply to comment by PPQue6 in Governor Josh Shapiro Announces Pennsylvania Will Conduct Independent Water Sampling Following Ohio Train Derailment by susinpgh
In an early press conference, DeWine said both he and Shapiro were given the options by Norfolk Southern, and "they" decided to move forward with the vent and burn. Skip to 7:20 for DeWine's opening remarks.
But I can't find any information on who actually has the authority to make that decision. Even if both governors support the plan, is it their call to make? Or is that decision up to Norfolk Southern, EPA, NTSB?
I can't tell if DeWine is saying he and Shapiro gave official approval for NS to process with the vent and burn, or is he saying both he and Shapiro were advised of the plan and did not object to it? That's the biggest question: in what capacity did Shapiro and DeWine actually "approve" of the plan?

So, check this out. This is a map that I'm working on whenever I can grab a minute. This isn't my main goal but it does track dates and locations without exposing any personal information that I may have. It may have duplicates because it combines survey results with info that I scraped from comments across social media platforms. It also only contains observations that have enough location data and an accurate date.

I appreciate that. I can get worked up sometimes. I'm trying very hard to stay in my lane with this especially because my posts keep getting deleted and I really want to sort this out.
I know that there are many things that could be the cause but this is out of the norm. I'm 44 years old and I've lived in Orange County my entire life. I have a pretty good idea of what is normal and what is not.
