Whether you agree or not, Gov. Wolf became the face of PA Covid. He burned too much capital and goodwill. Not a chance of him getting enough support. Many small democrat business owners hate him. Moderate Republicans and small business owners won’t vote for him. I figured he knew that, so that’s why he had Lt. Gov. Fetterman run.

If you were laid off for illness, does your employer offer short-term disability? If you had health benefits, it's possible long-term disability was included.

More to the point, if you're unable to work, government disability benefits are something to consider. In some instances, one may still work part time and fully collect benefits. Worth looking into.

Alternatively, getting a job that doesn't require much physical activity and offers flexible hours. For example, answering customer service calls from home. Often such companies provide the software and even some hardware (ie. headset) and pay based on hours logged in working. If going this route, be wary of scams, such as reshipping packages or buying stuff for others.

Your guess about applying for random jobs one doesn't want is exactly what many do. It's annoyance for many employers, but many lighten the load by using 3rd party services to screen applications. On the other hand, the requirement does work by encouraging people to at least look around verses just sitting at home.

Saw a similar thread and some said the state doesn't check. That's incorrect. PA UE does occasionally follow up regarding one's job search. Another reason to apply 2+ jobs per week via career link.

I’ve never gone blind from liquor, so they’re clearly pretty capable when it comes to regulating the safety of products.

Drugs need to regulated. People have the right know that the products they’re buying are as safe as possible and are as advertised. No one should have to worry about fent being in THC gummies.

Degree in finance, an MBA and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard and then followed by many years of practical legislative experience as mayor Braddock and Lt Gov of the Commonwealth of PA…..oh yeah and he taught that GED program among a whole lot of other practical business and community economic revitalization efforts. Still don’t understand why people like to ignore the guy’s background.

That would require a lot of trustworthy product to be made with a lot of money earned just to throw it away to make a little bit of untrustworthy product without the group being greedy and maintaining profits. It also requires running a tight enough ship to have zero info-sec issues. The organization and backing for that from a bunch of small groups working together would have to be colossal. You believe the likelihood of that?

Anyway, unsafe products from major corporations leave the factory all the time because of negligence. Recalls only happen when there's been a government mandate or that get too much bad publicity.

Why would a large corporation allow folks to hurt their bottom line otherwise? We have a long history of large businesses shutting down lobbying and advocacy groups.

I'm not saying it isn't a conspiracy, I'm saying there's other more common explanations.
