I’m same way I have almost everything electric except for stove and dryer but I had a healthier 600 credit entering December. My heat pump used about 500 kwhr and the tesla used about 450 (winter sucks ). I still have 200 credit for January but will Probably go over since we have had almost no sun so far

No prob! Yeah, if you don't plan to be there for the long haul I probably wouldn't do it. In my case I sold my starter home 2 years ago and moved into my forever home which didn't have AC. So I spent the money as I'll be here for 20+ years. I also installed solar panels so the idea is to get myself as close to net 0 as I can.

Sure,

Spot enforcement makes no difference when the fundamental problem is not just systemic but is actually the status quo.

Whack -a-mole won't address a damn thing when the powers that be are just going to turn around and give the exact same "deal" to someone else. Every single development apparently needs (and gets) a variance and a tax break, so clearly the tax and code systems are fucked (which they are). If every building needs a sweetheart deal then it's hardly reasonable to fault them for getting one. But it's very reasonable to fault the city and the state for setting up a system where nothing is built by right and everything is at the personal digression of the mayor. That's the fucking problem

There are a lot of silly things you can add to your car to personalize it. There doesn't have to be a reason for their existence. Some of them will earn you a ticket, however. This is one of them.

The other thing you need to worry about when adding window tint or some other mods is your insurance. Depending on the carrier, thay can deny your claim if you have an "illegally modified vehicle."

Most won't but it's a big claim they will try every trick in the book to find a way to deny it. On the other hand, a ticket for tint can absolutely raise your rates. Many insurance companies have this clearly listen in thier policies. This is directly from Progressive's website:
"Do window tint tickets affect car insurance?
A window tint ticket can affect your car insurance rate, just like any other violation on your record. Plus, if your tinted windows are darker than the legal limit and you get into a covered car accident, your insurance company may not pay for all damages to the illegally tinted windows. Depending on your insurer, there may also be other potential effects to your car insurance policy."

I didn't. I just screwed the plates to the bumper. After being stopped 6 times without a ticket I figured they ran their course. I did however use the stainless steel screws and screw caps that came with the plate covers

Thank you for the informative response. Probably won't make the switch on my current home due to the costs, but I'm looking to build a house within the next decade, and it seems like that would be the way to go for my forever home.

Please point to all of the comments (or even one) in which people said, "let's prevent housing developers from building any housing at all" — we’ll wait.

>How much money does a developer have to spend to have to build new places in RI renting for $500-1200? Figure that out and then ask "well if it costs that much why would they do it?”

You mean you don’t actually know, but you’re sure it’s too much to do. Why haven’t you figured it out? It would make your argument more compelling if it were actually substantiated, instead of just being whatever Tucker Carlson says.

>this guy is ready to spend money to build a building. There are no/few others that are willing.

We don’t need the building he wants to build for his own personal profit — does that part matter at all?

What if he wanted to build a 300-story building, do we have to allow that because he’s “ready to spend money”?

I'm not even worried about what it says about a person. We have a law about it, so it should be enforced, or we should get rid of the law. I don't understand how it's not enforced. Like at all.

I would get my windows tinted tomorrow if I wasn't worried about breaking the law, but every day I see people breaking that law I think to myself, maybe I should take that chance too.
