Makes perfect sense if you're able to project out 30+ years on a cost/benefit analysis. I've always wanted a plot of land on a river so I could run micro hydro for power.

Yea, I've heard that too. My experience is good so far, I believe the solar division of the company is operated independently of the auto.

Full disclosure -- Newport Solar quoted ~80k before incentives for 12kWh of solar and 9kWh of battery backup. Tesla was ~50k before incentives for 12kWh of solar and 40.5kWh of battery... but a much longer lead time. A huuge difference.

Definitely visit the RISD museum. Also walk on the East Bay bikepath. A walk around Brown campus and Thayer St. can be fun. I also second the side trip to Newport and/or the Green Animals estate in Portsmouth. Blithewald in Bristol is gorgeous in the spring as well - and, they do an afternoon tea - be sure to make a reservation if you're doing this.

Tesla will give you the best price hands down. But their customer service isn’t the best and they are very busy so you’ll end up waiting.

At least get a quote from them to compare.

Avoid united better homes no matter what. Sketch AF.

Don't sign anything before getting multiple quotes with full pricing.

I went with a SunPower PPA just across the border in CT. They sell one of the top few panels.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, people also forget that those who were largely unequipped for this winter storm live in APARTMENTS. Texas has multiple sizable cities where a majority are living in condos and apartments. We can’t just get a generator, and even if we had a smaller generator it would only really work for charging phones and small household appliances. Larger appliances like refrigerators, ovens, and hot water, and heat wouldn’t be an option.

That’s like saying if Bank of America sees major increases in credit card spending, it’s not useful because there are other banks. United is a major mover; it’s a significant data source.

The census happened three years ago. Everything that has happened since then has not been captured. Whereas United is a business that collects stats every year.

It also comports with the data we are seeing on housing. There’s little to no inventory because the demand is so high. That’s not what happens in shrinking dying places.
