For other taxes, sure. It’s bullshit. For sales tax, there’s definitely truth to it. There’s a point where the rate gets high enough where revenue will start to drop as consumer habits evolve. This is especially true when 99% could easily go to one of two other states to make purchases.

I was into archery a lot before I moved to Rhode Island but then went back to school and started a new career, had a kid..etc and kind of set it aside. That being said I would look into local sportsman’s clubs that usually have a range to shoot at. Sometimes they have leagues as well. I used to shoot at archers lane in north Attleboro (not even sure it’s there anymore) in their league and had a lot of fun.

Yea, it’s time to go rogue solar. I’m either installing a grid tie inverter with zero export or 12kw split phase off grid inverter on a automatic transfer switch. Whatever I do won’t send my generated energy to Rhode Island energy, it’s a ripoff.

City water, septic and gas heat/hot water. Dryer and stove are electric. We have central heat and air (so forced hot air). Our units are old (30+ years). Our heat is set to 64 right now because of the outrageous gas prices. Our summer electric bill is about double when it’s super hot

I would make sure to know your stuff and research a purchase. Skis tend to have a shelf life to the bindings and are only idemnified for 10ish years for safety and fb marketplace (and some secondhand stores) have some very old skis. Someone who knows how to do bindings will have the knowledge/skills to repurpose older stuff and avoid injury.

It sounds like you're looking to purchase like new, so this is less likely to be an issue, but there might be really old bindings or barely used skis so check the info.

All of these people admitted that this commute funded their large house, stay at home parent, sailboat. So it wasn't an issue of necessity, but maximizing the situation for splurges. One person I know did the commute to live close to their (local) extended family but could have afforded to move close to work.

It’s about 35-40 min trip there for us. There aren’t many restaurants we travel that far for so that says something. We used to go a couple times a month but now we got a little one whose not ready for that so we save it for the date nights which are few and far between lately 😁. We will introduce her to it soon though.
