I started using my programmable thermostat (changing +/- 2°F), and have a super-insulated 40 gal hot water tank that only loses 1°F/hr. It wasn't the cheapest system, but it's saving me money every month (so far). Hope you can figure out where you can cut some cost!

If you are just noticing this now, it’s hard for people to empathize.

The energy company spent ad money explaining the issue and alerting their customers. The State Dept. of Public Utilities held hearings on the matter and did its best to alert consumers.

We get it, it’s annoying, lots of people literally can’t afford it. But this all goes back to October. So if you are just catching on now then people are rightfully going to think you are uninformed or ignorant of the problem. The added cost in fact has nothing to do with the local energy providers and has to do with the regional energy grid managers passing on cost.

So yeah, it sucks. But this exact post happens twice a week and most of the time from people who don’t understand anything other than , “My EnERgy BiLL wEnt UP MERRR!!!”

My single bedroom is the same cost as a 4 bedroom.. Guess who's moving.

Pastiche is less cloyingly sweet and way better quality. Gregg’s regular chocolate cake is pretty good. The death by chocolate is much too sweet for me.

My fiancée and I had an eye-popping bill and we got someone from RIE to look at our meter. It turns out that we had a gas leak. The rates are still insane but always a good idea to get it looked at

I converted my system from oil to natural gas over the summer, and have been quite pleased with my bill. The last few years I've been paying between $225 and $250/month on a budget plan with my oil company, so my most recent bill of $175 was still lower than what I'm used to!
