Also a “drawer”. Look it up. It also means “one who draws checks”.

When Eqyptian prez Anwar Sadat was assassinated in 1981 the Providence Journal published alongside the main news report a background article headlined “Sadat: Man who sort peace.”

No we can’t have chicken coups in Warwick but Coventry or Exeter you can. Anyway your right I’ve been using my wood stove nightly and still my gas bill is double it’s unbelievable that people are ok with this. Most people I know are not but if you blame the administration or any leaders you get censored or outright banned on Reddit. Doesn’t matter if you’re Republican or Democrat we’re all getting hit the same way in the pocketbook hard. I have upvoted you, but just give it time. You will have negative votes in no time don’t dare to question why energy is high. You made a good post. This is a big problem for people who don’t make a lot of money or who are low income or on fixed income or people who may lose your job as this recession continues. Good luck to you.

Exactly! And they don’t allow you to have chickens in Warwick? My friend has a chicken run at his place in Attleboro and I thought Warwick was more country that Attleboro… that’s so lame that they won’t let you have chickens there.

I don’t know how the elderly on fixed incomes are doing it they’re going to have to choose between eating or heating. This is brutal, but people keep voting the same way and expect a different outcome is literally the definition of insanity. Our leaders don’t care we’re cattle they need our tax money, and clearly no one wants to fix the energy crisis, which would be easily fixed if we opened up the United States capacity to create energy. But that’s not gonna happen for another at least two years. Economies going off the cliff it’s like eight or nine bucks for eggs I live in Warwick I’d buy a chicken if I could they won’t let us. I have a wood stove and natural gas we’ve been running the woodstove and our bills still double what it should be.

I’ve lived in RI my entire life and somehow managed to lose the accent. But i have such a hard time saying “Martha’s Vineyard”. It always comes out as “Ma-tha’s vin-yahd”

I’m just curious to see how long the people are going to shut up and take it in until they start to push back. Sure now the M2 supply is still high lots of people have a padded savings account, but that’s fast dwindling and it’s starting to eat into the basic needs of Maslow’s hierarchy

Reply to Advice regarding Westerly by PinkSwallowLove
I was born in westerly 56 years ago and still have a place there. It is not the town it was 50 years ago - in the summer there is a huge influx of tourists from New York. There is a big tax base due to the multi million dollar summer homes of various hedge fund types. This keeps the property tax rate low - but in spite of this investment in the school system is well below par. Aside from service jobs - most of the highly skilled work dried up do to corporate flight to lower cost geographies. This has been replaced by an influx of more transient workers attacked by the casinos.
In short a great town if you are wealthy and like the beaches - otherwise real career opportunities are limited - the middle class has been squeezed out

I live in-and love-Westerly. We have been here 2 years in an apartment close to downtown (our neighbors just moved btw so I know one apartment that may be advertised soon!) and have found a great sense of community here. I work in Narragansett and I’ll be honest, the commute blows. It would not be easy to commute daily around here without a car and even with a car it’s a drag—by Rhode Island Standards of course. 40 min commutes aren’t atypical for the rest of the USA, but I swear that taking Route 1 3x a week has taken years off of my life.
I’ve seen a fair amount od For Rent signs in the area and also across the River in Pawcatuck. I would expand my search to different sites, we found ours on Zillow 🤷🏼♀️ but check FB marketplace too

Dude we are buying from other countries hence all this inflation.
Bidens like a high school bully. Just because Trump made us energy independent he wanted to punch back at Trump but he has hurt all Americans.
Wonder what those documents he was hiding have to say.
