Claim that you’re exempt due to plans being unaffordable? I’ve done that. It was true, and it worked. I only paid in once, and it wasn’t nearly that high. Sorry, OP. It’s frustrating as hell that RI of all states is one of the few that didn’t opt out of the penalty. Good luck!

I would look up IRS pardons for tax owed. They have a form I did this form for someone's taxes 3 years ago.
There's criteria you have to meet for forgiveness.

This is the third recommendation for the one in Fall River! I’ll have to check it out.

There are three in the region that I think are the best. (Two have been mentioned)
Aquastethics in Fall River.
Tropic aisle in Framingham.
Uncle Ned’s in Millis.
I generally go for plants on Aquastethics as well as all my scaping needs. tropic and Ned’s are where I generally go for fish.
I find everyone at Ned’s especially knowledgeable and helpful with any issues.

I've had them and the low cost ones are essentially useless if you actually need to use it. Funny enough if you don't actually use the Healthcare or you're a low enough income you qualify for most of the grants through newport hospital it's cheaper to just not have health insurance in the first place

Whatever we write on Reddit.com, property taxes are here to stay, so energy is probably better spent on analyzing value for spending and ways to tweak formulas for better results rather than arguing abstractions.🤷🏼♂️

Having worked for their subsidiary company Wizards of the Coast, I can tell you that the highest paid go first. I was one of such. This was back quite a few years ago now. But the let go was right after Christmas. Apparently my manager fought to keep me (and the others that were "laid off") until after the holidays. January 6th BAM! The second I signed off, my passwords were changed. There was no saving emails, screen shots, nothing. Done. All to save a few pennies on their bottom line so the CEO got his bonus.

My experience … the shortage of mechanics and technicians is a challenge. And of course those technicians and mechanics also are susceptible to COVID-Flu-RSV viral illnesses. Rhode Islander holds an older population and Millennials-GenZ are not seeking skilled trades. Yeah it’s a problem.

Maybe not the ethical answer, but Just click the radio button in turbo tax (or your choice of tax software). that says "yes, I have health insurance" They don't ask any follow up questions (does not ask what health insurance, IDs or anything like that, its literally just a yes or no question) and I'm pretty sure no one is checking or cares.

I'm certainly not giving out advice, or condoning this, however....
Hypothetically a person could just say they had health insurance last year to avoid the fee if you are in a pinch. Unless you are making well over six figures a year the odds that it would be checked are slim and none.
growupandblowawayy t1_j64w3zo wrote
That really sucks. For what it’s worth, you can sign up for a plan for as low as 15 cents a month depending on your income. I feel like that price point is for people who can’t afford and don’t really need healthcare (like you don’t have chronic illlnessses or medications). Regardless, we’re forced to get health insurance.

All of those functions could be done far cheaper, and better in the private sector. Roads should be privatized paid for and maintained by advertising just like dominos was filling in potholes and putting their logo on it a couple years back.
Our roads are in horrible shape with so many potholes its like driving on the surface of the moon if you drive through a Walmart parking lot even one that takes multiple large truck deliveries a day its pristine. Plus if a road was privately owned people wouldn't put up with the conditions they put up with now with the government. Because you have no choice with the government you can't boycott a government without moving but you can boycott a business. Fire companies used to be private and even today often volunteer. They used to compete for who could get to a fire faster to put it out paid out by private insurance. Government took it over and they unionized and expenses ballooned. I would know my dad was a firefighter in Providence for 25 years.
You mean police who shoot teenagers in cars and have 0 accountability. I'd rather defund the police and have my own firearms to protect me and the ability to hire private security if I need to who I can fire if they do a bad job or bring disrepute. Where do you feel safer the dark alley in providence at 3am that's the purview of the government police, or the nightclub full of drunk people with the bouncer?
Public schools that indoctrinate and groom your kids rather than homeschooling that allows kids to learn at their own pace often graduating 1-2 years before other children. Or private schooling that everyone agrees is better quality. All of which would be cheaper Taxation is theft, the government creates a problem and then steals from you purporting to be the only solution to it.
running out of time to type this much will have to do.

i think the opposition to universal healthcare has a lot of factors, but a LOT of the people opposed to that idea were opposed to this one.
like, this was the most hated provision of obamacare by a wide margin when it was federal
