Not knowing where a school is is not an excuse to speed. City speed limits are 25 anyway (only 5 above school zone limit) and to get a ticket you have to be doing 29/30 anyway so you were already speeding that’s the reality. So leadfoot still applies. Blaming signage is just an excuse.

Depends what you're looking for, RI has a lot of great stuff packed into a small area. Great beaches for the summers, solid hiking and other outdoor activities for other seasons. Top seafood. Won't get the urban vibes of a huge city but Boston and NYC are short trips away if thats your thing. Cost of living is relatively high so make sure you have the finances or a gig lined up.

Most RI natives who complain about the state have never lived anywhere else, with no basis for comparison other than short vacations. Anecdotal but all the people I knew who couldnt wait to leave ended up returning within a year or two.

See the problem is you can put up all the signs in the world but can’t make people read/follow the signs. The school zone on west man rd in Portsmouth has the flashing lights and signs indicating your speed yet people still fly through it. Portsmouth PD is very good at keeping a presence in that school zone when the lights are active but you always have people fly through who don’t care

Why would the irs waste time going after a few hundred dollars when they are understaffed and the return on investment for that is so low? How many poor people do you know who have been audited? Or a better question- who do rich people fear and despise the most? (The IRS, of course) They look for taxpayers who generate red flags like excessive or unlikely deductions to reduce very high dollar tax liabilities, they aren’t wasting time on poor people.
