Lots of Paise for - Rebelle! High quality. But yes, pricey. Their cinnamon raisin are my favorite. With that roasted poblano cream cheese... Very nice contrast.

Avoid... Providence bagel. Started strong, however, quickly dropped off. Bagels used to be more bagel-ey, but then got bread-y. Last time I was in a couple years ago the counter was black with grime. The cinnamon raisin here usually taste like onion bagels... Gotta pay attention to that baking order...

Bubbie's on Hope St gets bagels from Life's a Bagel in Canton. They're only available on Fridays and Sundays. This is the closest I've found to a good Jewish bagel.

Krazy Korner (Seekonk) has decent bagels and makes great sandwiches

Bagel Gourmet is tasty but still not quite right. Good for a quick fix.

There's a delicatessen opening near Wildflour that I'm hype to try because they might have good bagels.

That’s a lot, wow.

It opens up almost everywhere. Your best bet is going to be either East Greenwich, Portsmouth/Jamestown/Little Compton, Barrington, and to a lesser degree, North Kingstown, South Kingstown, and Narragansett. Those are generally considered most of the best public school districts in the state. The homes are expensive, but with a budget of 1.2 million you’ll have a hard time going over budget.

There is other nice neighborhoods in other towns that you could certainly afford, but it’d probably be best to go there only if you’re okay with sending your kids to private school. Providence is a good example. The East Side is a wonderful neighborhood. But besides one school (Classical High School), the Providence Public Schools are a complete mess.

If you are a foreigner, be ready for the culture shock. If you come from an EU country, be ready to lose a lot of benefits you may take for granted. If you come from a non-industrialized country, it is going to get a lot better. Just a few things: -Most countries industrialized are doing better than US in maternal and child mortality rates and in health care/life expectancy. -Workers rights are usually worse than many countries -Corruption depends on the state, for RI we are talking third world county levels. Which could be good for you if you have the money to buy your way around. Just avoid the feds -Getting a green card it is hard, your options are: Student visa (temp) and most employers will be reluctant to sponsor you once you are here unless you have a niche. Work visa, again it has to be for something in high demand. Fiancé visa. Or buy a shit ton of property. -It is definitely a fun state especially if you come from Latin America.

South County dog park was super nice when I used to go there. They have it separated by a small dog area and a large dog area. Unfortunately, way too many poor dog owners out there

Edit: South Kingstown Dog Park - not sure what the downvotes are for lol

Lincoln/Cumberland/Smithfield area is nice, the schools there are way better than providence. It’s about 15-20 to the city, 45 mins to Boston, 30 to Worcester. Decent restaurants but the city is right there anyway. Lincoln state park is right there, swimming, trails ect. Blackstone bike trail.

Edit: it’s a thing on this sub that Rhode Island is “full”, in general the people are much nicer than the Reddit weirdos

Wait they used to be 55mph zones? That’s crazy lol I live on a street off west main and it’s a pain in the ass enough to get in and out of sometimes with a 35mph limit. And yeah they either sit and Cindy’s or in the second lot of the school itself. Used to sit where that shell quick lube is but I haven’t seen that in awhile

You bring up a good point. Maybe the yellow signs even sans saying anything about school zone symbolize school zones. I will have to look at a drivers manual to see if that is the case.

Downloaded the manual and those signs are not in the manual just school crossing signs.

I have figured out the revenue enforcement part of it but I think turn about is fair play so advocating for more safety which would decrease revenue because people would be less likely to be caught off guard (it is about safety) with the same flashing yellow signs showing the school speed limit in the center would put these cities in no win situation.

How can they argue against more effective school safety?

I mean from their point of view if a child is hit but the drivers pays the $50 fine for speeding they have done all they can prior to the incident. Obviously post such an incident the driver has consequences but this is about prevention.
