LOL, wrong district (not that it matters), but CD1 is much less conservative than CD2. Fung would get trounced. Only Republicans to have any kind of chance would be de la Cruz, Newberry or Chippendale.

The replacement is elected, not appointed. I'm guessing he didn't know he would get the job back when he needed to decide to run for re-election.

There'll be a special election this year. But the seat isn't really at risk either way; RI-1 is even more left-leaning than RI-2, where Fung couldn't beat Magaziner last year despite a favorable national environment and being generally a stronger candidate.

How so? What has he done over his career to make you say that?

Do make sure you are visible and can wave down the driver if they don't see you at the stop- if there is no one there they will keep going. I had a couple buses ignore me some years back and ever since i always give them a friendly wave if i don't see them put the turn signal on to pull up to the stop I'm at. I imagine this could be harder and require more planning if you're shorter and can't get out into the street with the curb drop bc of wheelchair.

I'm honestly surprised this place survived the pandemic. I went a couple times right before and each time got probably the weakest, most watered down drinks I've ever had. It was worse than a dollarita from Applebee's.

1.3 billion. And to think universities have even more mind blowing endowments.

I worked in the cape all last year. Summer traffic would start Thursday mid day. Fridays were terrible from 7am on. I’d recommend going on a Wednesday and staying the weekend.

Why bother campaigning for a year to be elected only to resign three months in?

Hear hear. I also love that for every comment alleging that there’s nothing good about Woonsocket, there’s at least two others pointing out cool things to do, see or eat. Makes me wonder how much nicer our little state could be if more of us sought out the good things instead of harping on the bad.

My dad has a story about the flood that happened there when he was a kid…. Bodies were being washed out of the cemetery and floating down the street. He had to participate in the clean-up because his dad was the assistant fire chief. Wild.
