I love riding RIPTA! You will find that there are so many great places in this state that you can get to using transit. In addition to the urban core of Providence/Pawtucket/CF, the entire East Bay & Newport are fully accessible via transit as well as much of the West Bay.

A great RIPTA "hack" is that you do not need to go to Kennedy Plaza to transfer buses. Most transfers downtown can be done at the Train Station, the East Side Tunnel, or the Pedestrian Bridge. I used to not mind being in KP, but in the past few years it is constantly filthy, with lots of cigarette smoke, people fighting...just all around unpleasant to be in. Riding RIPTA is more pleasant if you can avoid spending time in that area.

We are hearing that CF Mayor Rivera is in discussions with family and colleagues exploring a potential campaign as well. This was only a preliminary list of people who have expressed interest in running for Congress in the past. Not a list of viable candidates who would "do a good job."

I hope that helps!

Really frustrating how few women are on this list - just Helena Buonanno Folkes and Nellie Gorbea on the D side. Would love to have representation, or at the very least candidates, that more accurately reflects the makeup of the state (similar criticism could be made for race/ethnicity of the potential candidates, not just gender).

It feels like this was a “move up or move out” moment for him. He was being vaguely groomed for house leadership, but didn’t make it in with the reshuffling that came with Pelosi’s exit as leader. He probably doesn’t see an upward path in the house at this point, and doesn’t want to spend the next twenty years as a rack and fine member. That’s my read at least.
