Will you be driving through Norfolk VA at all? If so, there’s a fantastic botanical garden there. It’s huge and a pretty place to walk around.

I’ve done this drive before and we took 81 instead of 95 to avoid traffic. Lots of things to do in Virginia - there’s a drive thru safari park that’s a lot of fun

Elite in south county. Amazing. Friendly staff, reasonable membership if you go a lot. I can’t say enough good things.

1. Restaurant Depot has decent pricing and you can request a day pass
2. A number of places do Cash & Carry without advertising it. I was surprised to learn that Quality Food in Providence has a C&C counter
3. Confreda Farm. They do amazing deals all year-round anyways but during the summer you can just drive around to their wholesale side and buy what you need. Their "canning tomatoes" are my favorite
4. Farm Fresh is good for local stuff. Not always the cheapest but it's my go-to come canning season

I can remember Southbound road trips when I was that age or a little older... I can remember Clyde Peelings' Reptile Land in Pennsylvania wss a great zoo - still open today. Luray Caverns in Virginia was another favorite.

Elite Indoor Gun range is, hands down, the best in the state. Great staff, great facility. No attitude and decent prices for what you get. Never felt uncomfortable. Look not further.

lego land there is meh.

The pez museum in CT is fun believe it or not - a quick one but if you need a half hour of kids getting their yayas out on the home stretch. We did in on the way back from OBX. Altho your kids are young enough they might just sack out? Never been to Hershey park but hear it’s fun. Isn’t there a Lego land near there too? (Never been).

This doesn’t apply to people in lifted F-150 pickups. They need to get home as fast as possible to kiss their father on the lips.

Two of my uncles in Waltham MA had kitchens in their basements and were incredible Italian cooks-I miss them

Mid state is awesome, a couple of the staff actually grabbed their milsurps and hit the range with me for a few minutes when I brought in my garand for the first time

Elite gun club, mid state, and soon mtr are all indoor ranges that just cost a range fee. DEM has an outdoor range that just requires an application and a safety course. If you’re in northern RI mtr should be open by the end of the year, at least that’s what the owner told me

I hit a light all the time that starts as 1 lane, then you turn left into 2 lanes, and I go wide right. It feels wrong but since im the first car in a single lane that’s ok 🤷🏻‍♂️
