Check out Riffraff in Providence. It’s a bookstore/bar so at the very least it’s a comfortable place to hang out alone, grab a drink and read a book. They also have a coffee tea menu if you are staying away from alcohol.

null is usually used in information systems (most likely in this case a SQL server of whatever flavor to contain the data displayed on the site) that’s means nothing, invalid, no data etc.

So in this case, that particular field of data for the page contains no data an thus returns “null”

Park at the Gateway Center or in the parking lot at the Shops at Long Wharf. Then grab a spot right on Thames, by Sephora, and next to the Newport History Museum. The parade comes down through Washington Square and turns onto Thames, you'll be right there so you'll see everything coming down the hill before it gets to you. Bring cash because people will be selling hats, beads, balloons, etc, and your little ones will likely want a souvenir :)

I do want to clarify: it's not that I don't think the city has a right to request a cut from Caprio and the show, or that they never did...

It's the fact that they say on their behinds and seemingly didn't care when the show was not that profitable, only to now suddenly get all butthurt over a situation they could easily have resolved years ago, that irritates me.

Was the show maybe a little wrong for not offering anything? Possibly, maybe even probably. But the city established an implied status quo for years by not saying anything about it, so for them to speak up now comes off as a bit grubby.
