Okay, maybe it’s just me. The food tasted pretty much how I remember Chinese food tasting when I was a kid. Maybe I’m a snob now.

I will say that their hot mustard is crazy good. If they bottled it, I would buy some.

But…yeah. How did they make that food so quickly?

I gotta say I actually like Luke's food. Coming from the west coast where you really don't get '80s style Chinese food anymore, it's nice to find places like that still exist around here. However, I agree that it is a bit odd how fast the food comes out. The last time we were there our entire table (4 people) was served in around 5 minutes and I was wondering how the hell they did it. There's like 200 items on that menu, are they all just sitting back there ready and waiting for someone to order?

These kinds of conflicts of interest happen all the time in urban districts. For example, Smiley nominated the chair of the trustrees for the Gordon school (admittedly don't know much more so maybe hes a good candidate in ways im unaware of). It is far more unusual for an affluent well ranking school district to have this kind of thing happen, but it happens a lot with public schools and private/charter proteges.

This is going to feel short sighted when teachers flee the budget cuts for well funded districts and home values decline.

I live in Providence, have a small dog and work seasonally (summer on Block Island) with my boyfriend and we were considering just paying our rent for the summer while we’re away.. but would consider subletting to the right person 😬 so if nothing works out, send me a message! Other than this, I’ve found a bunch of great Facebook groups where people post sublets for the summer (if you search brown university sublets; providence young professional housing; providence creative housing.. Etc) stuff should come up. I haven’t been to college around here in 5ish years but the groups are still pretty open.

Thanks for posting. I really enjoy catching local live music gigs, but I pulled the plug on FB and IG a couple years or so ago and unfortunately those are the only mediums that most artists and venues seem to use to get the word out now. Sadly, gone are the days of WBRU, the Providence Phoenix and the New Paper (yes, I’m dating myself).
