The short answer is no. Rhode Island doesn't really have a huge gym market and doesn't have too many chains overall (but a few lower cost chain gyms tbf). They do have class pass options in some of the boutique places.

I mostly know Providence and Providence has a large swath of the population who work/go to/are alumni of Brown. It's the best gym in the city, by far, though probably not with the hours you want or maybe not available to you as a non alumni (their rules have ebbed and flowed over the years). People pay out the nose to have those amenities in their fees, so it just doesn't make sense to have a "luxury" competitor when you have a college town.

What caught my eye is the “city of providence hasn’t made a dime off this show?” Neither has the civilians featured on it. Rhode Island nickels and dimes you for everything. I lived a lot of places. I was shocked when I had to pay road taxes, especially considering as of 2022 Rhode Island has the worst roads in the country.

Then everything else sucks too. I’ve dealt with Medicaid, snap, wic in ALOT of other states. I was military. California, South Carolina. Alot to list and Rhode Island is up there on the worst. To the point I’ve called the governors office to get answers back from those places.

But Rhode Island is always concerned with how much they’re making. Not how much the people are getting. Are our schools great? Homelessness down? Employment up? Are our roads even drivable?

I have no problem with paying high taxes so much so I would do so for universal healthcare and school. But to see them criticize this guy because they didn’t cut of the money kills me. Especially because honestly, I appreciate the judges empathy and understanding. You don’t see that often and if he does it for a show, ya know what at least he’s doing it. Becaus some of the judges here suck.

Rich people aren’t competent with poor people for apartments. Corporations are buying up real estate to sell it at a high price point. Rich people don’t need more houses, they buy it for more money. And it’s bullshit. We need to stop playing life to serve the 1%. Tax them at 70% put a cap on the amount of housing units they can own. Allow middle class to buy a home they’ll actuall live in and not have to rent out from some nepo dick head

Pawtucket declared a parking ban to start at 3pm tomorrow. Just checked the forecast. 1-3", low of 32.

I guess maybe because they want to salt in anticipation of black ice?

Because elected officials are so determined to avoid responsibility over troublesome issues, the Rhode Island Foundation is actually who we have to thank for setting local policies on education and homelessness. Nicest thing I can say about them is some policy is better than no policy. I have no idea what Cicilline intends to change if anything.
