Folks are very intimidated by bath renovations . I’d say the most intimidating part is for sure if plumbing needs attention. They actually aren’t that bad . Even if you have to give walls and floors attention . YouTube is your best friend it’s pretty crazy how much information is out there

I completely gutted mine to the studs and did the work myself. Drywall, paint new shower surround install, toilet, tile, banner tile, board and batten with crown with literally no experience, all YouTube.... Less than 3k

I live in American wire...the most over priced place I've seen. I can confirm this dog pee covered, weed and cigarette smelling, roof leaking place is indeed $2400/mo and is half my income. I'm leaving rhode island as soon as possible because of this. Beautiful state otherwise.

We paid 10K, but our bathroom is below the sewage line so we had to install a crusher pump. The bathroom was basically just a toilet. Now it's got a small standing shower, vanity, and toilet. We used Lil Rhody Renovations.

My answer is a non answer, because It really depends on what you are having done, the experience of the contractors, the selections you make, and what they find as they tear everything apart. It is almost impossible to compare without every detail listed and knowing everything about your bathroom. For example, you can go to Lowe’s or Home Depot to choose your toilet, vanity, tub, get vinyl flooring, have a shower curtain instead of a glass shower, get a premade tub/shower insert, and use existing plumbing and electrical. Or you can go to a high end kitchen bath store, have custom tile, new lighting, glass shower- the sky’s the limit. A simple shower head can be $40 or a fancy rain shower with controls can be $1500( yes there are some that expensive). I just want to note that cheapest isn’t always the best when it comes to the trades. Having tradesmen who know what they are doing can make the difference between a bathroom you are happy with, or a bathroom that will fall apart in a few years because it wasn’t done correctly.

12 k for very similar, but a custom shower with custom glass and a knee wall in lieu of the wall that framed the gross insert that used to be there.

I'm in Newport. But this was 3 yrs ago, so probably would be about 11 million now.

It’s a great problem to have. The last thing you’d want is cratering housing costs.

Nobody is forcing people to live in Rhode Island. There’s a big country out there with lots of affordable housing.
