It's only a story because st germains husband got ticketed. I reached out to her, and her predecessor multiple times, about the massachusettes residents, the overflowing trash feeding the rats, the traffic laws, the 18 wheelers going through no truck zones breaking curbs and signs, about the police not helping.

Nothing has changed for the better in 8 years. I gave up on contacting the reps and police about anything.

Hey there Beezlegrunk! I totally get what you are asking about the restrictions on street parking in Cranston. To my understanding, there may have been some issues in the past with traffic or safety concerns that prompted the city to enforce the restrictions. Also, it's possible that some residents in the area complained about too many cars parked on the street, so the city put those regulations in place to appease them. Regardless of the reasons, it's definitely a bummer that you can't park on the street overnight. But on the bright side, at least we have a council meeting going on soon where we can maybe voice our opinions and see if any changes can be made. Hope this helps and catch ya later!

Controversial opinion: As the child of native Spanish speaking parents, not having an official language is harmful for people who don’t speak the language of the majority when it is thought to be seen as a “pro” that they don’t have to. Example: You can immigrate and not have to learn the language, but are then forced into only lower paying jobs, & ergo less opportunities for your children / family’s. I really wish we would vote to have an official language. AI is already going to do away with so many lower paying jobs, these people won’t have a chance. /end rant.

I grew up in Cumberland. It's a mix of land owned by the Pawtucket water supply board (long story on that one, Cumberland sold off alot of it's reservoirs/streams to Pawtucket back in the day ), National Grid (or whatever group they are now), and private landowners.

It's a former railbed of the defunct New York and New Haven railroad that National Grid bought and used as an easement to run gas lines through.

Some people walk on it, but National Grid does have security planes do flyovers of the land, and the city of Pawtucket does have security trucks drive around the area.
