This, we can't access absolute truth, but we can get some chunks of it.
Maybe there is no table in front of me, maybe my brain is hallucinating, but there is something that make my brain see the table. The table that i see its a representation of something real.
Back to the post, there is objective knowledge. This type of knowledge is discovered, no made it up.

Most movies happen in realities where FTL travel is casual everyday thing, getting electrocuted by exposed mains is painful but not deadly.

I think “humans exhibiting qualities typically seen in animals” is still pretty creepy to some people. Look at vampires and werewolves for instance.
