This is a friendly reminder to read our rules.
Remember, /r/Showerthoughts is for showerthoughts, not "thoughts had in the shower!"

Reply to comment by M8dude in There’s just as many numbers between 0 and 1 as there is from 0 to infinity. by Resinate1
Ok thanks, didnt realize that with the different corresponding function. My logic would be that y=2*(x+1/2) can be used to define every number in both sets (where y is 1-3 and x is 0-1). But there are numbers outside of the set 1-3, say 15. So if I made a different set, inclusive of 1-3 and 15, then there are more numbers in this new set.
I guess I understand that I'm wrong since mathematicians smarter than me have come up with theories/proofs to what you're saying, but I think there's logic in my argument.

Reply to We buy fruits from the grocery store even though we can pick them from the trees ourselves. by hearsdemons
Most of those trees are owned by somebody else, unless you buy seeds and grow your own, but that requires you to have a lawn and also to account for it getting enough sunlight and water.

That's why books to films can be tricky. You have to make thousands of people happy.

Reply to As electric cars become more common, teenagers will no longer have as many issues sneaking out. by HackPorpoise
Expect cars to very soon implement bio-security measures so that the car can identify the driver using more than just which key they are using. If a teenager sneaks out and takes the car then it may be the car that snitches on them. They will probably also implement parental controls so that junior can't turn the car on after 10pm unless mom or dad is with him.
Also, make sure you get it back in time to fully charge it before your parents need to drive it to work. It's not as easy as topping off the tank in an ICE engine car.

Maybe, but they might've had PTSD after witnessing a member of their tribe getting eaten alive by a carnivorous animal, stomped to death by a mammoth, or dying from hypothermia!

It's the best part! My mind's version of "Jurassic Park" would've never made it past the censorship board 🦖

Even having read the books before seeing the movies I find if I reread the books all the imagery is that of the movie now

That sounds awful.
We have other options rather than just burying our dead.
