They’re important. They give a little pause so when you read it your brain interprets shapes as speech

Unless we set up a new system of counting dates.

This is a friendly reminder to read our rules.

Reply to comment by Komrade_Yuri in We all think humans will destroy the earth, but in reality, Earth will destroy humans far before that. by cloudboy37
It's not as if actions do not have consequences; some things cannot be undone or magicked away. Humans have already done irreversible things to the planet and blindly assuming our guilt as a species will evaporate when we're gone is awfully optimistic

I would say the semi colon is less useful, as by nature it could always be replaced with a period. It's used to string two complete sentences together if the writer deems it necessary to connect them further than just having them together.
At least I think so. Been a hot minute since I was in a writing class

Not quite, there are some religions/cultures that have different calenders entirely. The current Hebrew year is 5783, while the Islamic year is 1444.

Ovens are great if you're cooking for a large family, they're less great when you're cooking for a few people, since it still uses the same amount of power either way. Having a small oven can be very useful instead.
I'd love it if they were renamed to tabletop convection ovens to accurately reflect that, but they remain useful either way

Oil fryers (deep fryers) get food way crispier because it transfers heat better than air. Essentially, you want to cook the food before it dries out. Air fryers work by convection, which is just blowing hot air over the food, which works better than just sitting in a hot oven.

The USPS has Informed Delivery.
Do you supposed that added that service after a three-letter-organization insisted on all mail being photographed?
