Actually most families before the economic recovery of the Regan era were living in poverty.

Well, that's the point. Sex is for reproduction and has always been so ever since it first appeared. We only need birth control because we're too successful as a species for our own good that neither us nor other species are able to genetically adapt fast enough to our technological advancement.

Not using the mouse is something I can relate to, the skill that allows a hacker to never have to use the space bar is something I have not been able to master though.

There's often sperm even in pre-ejaculatory fluid, so any unprotected sex could result in pregnancy.

true, but we can still use our fists as weapons and we still raise our hands to show we won’t use them. other animals don’t really seem to do this when they too have fists or something to use. 🤷🏻♂️

literally even how handshakes started, originally people shook hands by shaking each others forearms, this was to prove you did not carry a weapon in your dominate hand.

Just a reminder that pulling out is not an effective form of birth control.

It's to show that you don't have a weapon in your hands
And no weapons = coming in peace

We are also one of the only to wield things, so showing that our hands are empty makes more sense than say a bear who would instead be showing their claws in the same position.

Not... really? The pull out method doesn't work and condoms were less effective when BC and emergency contraception where invented.

I would accept this premise if people were prone to declaring "I'm peeing in the pool!". People do it because it's not easily detectable, if it were, people wouldn't do it because it actually isn't socially acceptable.
