Then there are those Command centre Tech geeks in movies with those dreaded vector base single colour neon animations running on a black or transparent background and you rarely see their hands. They must be good with shortcuts cause those animations can’t repeat themselves you know.

You say "no one watches the news anymore" and I assume you're talking about news on a television. Then you say "clicks and likes" and I'm just confused.

Having said that, to my knowledge, "the news" was never in the business of providing solutions. A reporter reports. A journalist writes. An anchor anchors. They are not supposed to be activists, though some modern ones lean that direction.

News should not propose solutions. News is meant to inform. Something happened? The news tells you what happened, and maybe some context of why it matters.

Solutions should come from community leaders, ballot initiatives, elected officials, proposed legislation, et al. Some rando is trying to do, or succeeded in doing, something to solve a problem? That's what you hear about on the news, and maybe some context on strengths, criticisms, and people's responses.

The clickbait and for profit shit is a problem with the news. The lack of solutions is something to criticize politicians, lobbyists, industry leaders, and others for.

Fair. But again, impossible doesn’t need to be part of the equation. Just efficiency I guess, in the way you find it easier to use a mouse, I find It easier to just press keys that my hands are already on, than move to a new Input, unless I’m already using the mouse, such as while multitasking while also playing games.

I suppose it comes down to if you only know keyboard commands, mouse commands will be easy enough to intuit if you have to use a gui, but if you only know mouse inputs for everything, you’re fucked when the gui is gone.

What computers? I was the last of grade 12s(matriculants) to do maths using a log book,1985. It was forbidden to use calculators in exams. And typing was for girls only. At the time the Commodore was awesome and would’ve been so great to learn and use in school. And it had no mouse. That was reserved for Apple Macintosh owners

I absolutely agree with my lack of understanding of "metabolism". But if you look at it from a broader perspective, don't you think aging is caused by cells in our body trying to maintain itself?

All I'm saying is, building more cells in your body would ultimately cause more "maintanence" to be done (with the same DNA in the cells), which will in turn cause faster accumulation of Catastrophic Aging errors.

I mean you can be a huge douchebag and still care about certain issues. I mean fuck, someone can be a serial killer and still care about social issues.

You can "care" about issues because you think it makes you look better, or to feel good about yourself, or societal pressure.

You can prioritize in a way that isn't good. Putting small issues you care about ahead of big issues.

You can care about issues but have bad ideas / solutions.

You can care about issues and shit on other people who also care about those issues but are less vocal on it.

You can care about issues and shit on other people who also care about those issues but have a different opinions on those issues.

You can care about the issues but not actually care about the people involved.

Also... just because you are coming from a place of compassion doesn't mean you're right. Everyone is the good guy from their own perspective.

But more to the point, woke is not a synonym for "compassionate" by any stretch of the imagination. You can argue being woke comes from a place of compassion (which I'd argue isn't true for many people), but the words simply don't mean the same thing... at all.

Being woke just means social issues are important to you and you want progressive change regarding them.
