Sure. Then there are the people who are so indoctrinated by the Church that they believe an invisible man who hasn’t been heard from in over 2,000 years will fly in the sky with a spotlight on him, just because they read some fan fiction that said they would go to a really bad place if they don’t believe.

Doesn't work as an analogy a 100%. The feudal peasants were stuck for life with whatever noble owned the land they were born on, while I get to chose which modern day robber baron to pledge my keyboard to in exchange for a tiny fraction of the spoils.

Getting born is absolutely a lottery, though, as most of your future success is a function of familial social status and genetic makeup you end up with.
