Reply to Hang man is a pretty disturbing kid’s game considering it’s about a man getting executed if your diction isn’t good enough by Looney_forner
We recently introduced this game to our 4 year old who enjoys words and letters but then realized- it’s fucked up! How do we explain this to him?? My spouse then decided to call it “splash grandma” where we draw a dunk tank and begin drawing the body parts to grandma sitting on the dunk tank seat then finally the ball hitting the target 🎯. This is funny for us because my mother in law actually rented a dunk tank for her 60th and got splashed by the grandkids.

Ive had a time or two where i realized i was having an all-timer moment and it made the joy of experiencing moment even profound. And when i look back on it, yep, those moments are right on up there some of the best.

Reply to Technically everything we see and hear is massless, since photons and sound waves don't have any mass. by OwenIsSecretlyJesus
No, just no.
Whether or not photons have mass, is still debatable and not 100% verified.
And sound waves consist of stuff that have mass. Otherwise there wouldn't be a wave in the first place. Particles move around in a wave-like pattern --> Sound. That's why in a particle void atmosphere, there wouldn't be sound as well (in space for example)

We can't control our heartbeat either but that's a good thing. Possibly it's also for the better that we don't control most dreams because they have a function in helping our psychological stability.

Reply to Stories with humanized animals are cute. Stories with animalized humans are terrifying. by NoNo_Cilantro
We always root for the animal trying to escape slaughter. Then many of us go straight to the fridge and cook up a corpse. Why don't these stories explain that it's ok when the main characters are killed for someone's sandwich?

Reply to comment by Sooo_Dark in Technically, every house is a homeless shelter by memerboi421
There was an abandoned house across the street from me and anytime a homeless person would start circling it and peering in windows and jiggling the door, I would call the local police.
Our local police are really nice. They would come out, ask the person some leading questions, then tell them the places that they could go for assistance, emphasizing the four places to within a ten minute walk that would house them for the night, and where to apply for more permanent housing.
But yeah, once they move in and receive mail, you're in for a rough one.

A friend of mine was dating someone about a decade ago, and she discovered a photo of him from when they were kids, she was in the background of the photo. They were from the same general area but went to different public schools.

I'm an aide in a 2nd grade classroom, we play Time Out Kid and I draw a kid sitting on a chair in the corner. Still not ideal, but better than explaining hangings to 7 year olds.

Neither of those things you mentioned are bad things either though, and the fact that you think they are is telling. Having privilege isn’t something to feel bad about, it’s just an important thing to recognize.

This is very odd to me because all of the other ones are liquids at cold temperatures and Butter (which is better than margeine) is liquid at very warm temperatures.
