If you don’t already know about it, look up the history and meaning of the childhood ditty “Ring Around the Roses”. I’ve always wondered if any kid, ever, knew what they were singing about.

Once upon a time in the early days of YouTube, my friend sent me a “Hot Girl Fails” video compilation or some such. One of the clips was at a music festival, with a girl rolling around on the ground being a total spaz. Then I casually walk across the frame, stepping around her, giving her what is probably the most WTF look I’ve ever given a person.

My old college campus had maps South-oriented to have the main entrance at the top, but then most across campus were physically East or West-facing. So you had to mentally flip the map-orientation, then 90° your physical position to find your bearings. It was so needlessly confusing.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a map with the south on top once. Forgot which country made it.

North is probably on top more often due to more of the landmasses being there and the countries that made the maps being from there

Good GOD you’re dense. You’re chalking up affluent kids, to “oh they just worked hard and made good choices.” There’s a report from Georgetown University that I will link below, that shows for minorities and those not born of wealth, it doesn’t matter how hard you work, or how talented and smart you are. Your whole idea of “work hard and don’t be lazy” is a fucking cop out so you don’t have to address the actual problem of privilege. Not to mention the massive problems of giving these privileged people the power to incarcerate those less fortunate. OF COURSE THEY WILL USE THAT POWER TO KEEP THEMSELVES ELEVATED, and lock the less fortunate into a cycle of poverty and prison so they can’t replace those in power.

You need a better perspective. Educate yourself with this.

Whenever that happens to me I feel so confused. It's like in my head I know exactly what I want to say, but for the love of god I cannot recall the word in my native language whilst the word in English just pops right in.
