I see some meet up notifications for the running club - meet sat morn 9 am in front of lorca - do you know if it's a mix of men and women? has your bf been going recently? It seems intimidating to me because I am not a runner but I should try it out. You're my accountability partner now LOL I shall report back Really appreciate the recommendation : )

We use lone pine for boarding and LOVE them! They may have daycare. We read amazing reviews about bow wow and tried when we first moved - bad experience. Everyone we met was lovely, but in the small dog space we saw ~28 dogs in this tiny space. No room to play, most dogs just walking in circles. I felt so bad for our dogs we picked them up early and never went back. They were exhausted and slept forever after, but I think more from the experience, not from playing. Also smelled soooo bad they had to get bathed immediately. Bummer since the price is good there!

We used to take our pup to Wagmore but got sick of him coming home constantly smelling like dog urine and daycare smell. We switched to Room for paws and we are much happier. I would honestly recommend to go see the places in person and get a tour. If they don’t offer a tour then I would stay away from them.

Yeah the beer is so good and the owner has always been friendly, I just wish they would communicate. I only found out about the closing bc I showed up twice during their listed open hours over the past few months and both times the place was locked and quiet. One of those times there were two other groups that showed up at the same time and were also surprised it wasn’t open :/

Trying to figure this one out too. Mike's a great guy and the best brewery in Stamford and one of the best in Fairfield County. Hopefully he's able to reopen soon. He recently bought the food truck for Smash burgers and you can still find OJ on Parole on tap in a few area spots (Blind Rhino in Black Rock) so hoping he just closed the tap room for the Winter and will announce something soon. Last great beer was the Calm Like a Bomb aged in Bourbon Barrels and the Lock O Lantern pumpkin Barrell aged too.

It seems like they’ve been shrinking hours for the last few season and then in January it seemed like almost every post was about dates they were closed or hours changing.

The location is less than ideal with no real easy pathway to and from, and parking used to get hairy. Should have picked the industrial area up by DiMare…train and walking accessibility, multiple food options, more space for easy parking.

I hope for the best because it’s a 5 min walk from my house and the people there have always been great toward me, but I’m not optimistic.

Half full has been around for quite a while and their beer was even worse at the beginning. The $15 all-you-can-drink on Fridays was well worth it though. They revamped some years ago, investing in updating the space, beer quality and being involved in the city. Lock city started with a cool space and way better beer but didn’t really get around to distribution unfortunately. Hoping they’ll emerge for the spring though.

Don't quote me on this, but when I went there last fall and asked about their pumpkin beer, one of the guys mentioned something about moving to a new location. I'll see if I can find any information about that

I no longer live in the area but I’m very sad to hear this. Great place, great people. I would advise asking the folks at Towne Parlor the next time you are downtown, they share the same owners (or at least did when it opened).

Seconding Riley Mazda - had a bunch of coworkers who recommended it and I ultimately wound up buying there. Salesman was Richie - low pressure, no markups/Bs. Unfortunately I had bad experiences at both Greenwich and Stamford Toyota.

Seriously? I just moved within a few minutes of them and was planning to head over to check it out in the next few weeks.
