So the same thing basically happened to Jerry Lawler a few years ago. He had a match, few minutes later he drops dead at ringside, CPR, hospital stay, full recovery.
He"s in his 70s. He still works.
I understand that it's not NFL football. But who knows.

I second this. I have ROP and I’m legally blind (left eye completely blind, right eye -22 diopters and 20/200 vision). The article didn’t mention anything about retinal detachment.

You're thinking about climate change, which is still a looming existential threat.
This would have worsened/quickened that and also causes increased skin cancer rates.
So this is a win. Bur we need to be vigilant.

For the ozone layer?
Yeah they did loads. They (being a large amount of world leaders) banned the substances that were causing it from being used, they were used in everything from aerosols to fridges called cfcs
This was done in 1987 as part of the Montreal agreement. And unlike the Paris accords people followed through progress was made and the world was made slightly better.

They told us in the 80’s that it couldn’t regenerate itself. The hole there would remain forever.

Down to about 10° fov… been waiting for that cyberpunk future where I can swap eyes, squirt in stem cells, or plug bionic ones in.

My wife might quite like me having a full head transplant at times.
But, yes, my blind eye is smaller, tender to the touch (specifically on the side), has a pretty severe cataract and astigmatism. So your Reddit-diagnosis is probably right on the money. Thank you for your knowledge!

If your blind eye is smaller, it's called phthisis, meaning it shrank because the blood supply to the useless organ has effectively been irreversibly shut off (oversimplification). Even if the brain connections could be made, it still wouldn't be able to see because it will never have enough blood supply. You'd probably need a full eye transplant, and by the time we manage to do that, we can practically do full head transplants.
Really great progress they're making in the science though. It's a shame, about your misfortune.

No one knows really. Personally if I was him, I'd make sure my health and body can handle playing football again without this or worse happening again.
The last thing anyone wants is for another Reggie Lewis situation to happen again. Risking ones life isn't worth a sport.

I guess there are people who are passionate about their farm animals, and them getting home safely makes them feel good.
