Or the oceans have become relatively dirtier.

All the articles I could find that claim “the money doesn’t help salmon” are from 2014. Here’s one with a misleading title - the money is going to all sorts of natural resources programs in the state and to run water resources grants programs https://www.oregonlive.com/environment/2014/12/oregon_license_plate_money_mea.html

Because salt water has a LOT of salt, and we need more water than food. Salt water is more concentrated than what our kidneys can produce so if the only liquid we're drinking has more electrolytes than we can clear shit gets out of balance fast.

Might be the best place to find food, because of the state of the oceans.

Locked out from reading the story but license plates won’t help bees… they don’t even drive. They’re more interested in flowers and nectar and whatnot…

Dolphins, after swimming there: “Apparently humans have strange notions of what constitutes great news.”

Most of the commentary are clueless and missing the entire message! Instead of blaming the government or republicans, do what this man did. He literally showed you all how to fix the problem and not rely on a government entity to do it for you, regardless if the government is doing a good job republican or not. We the people, for the people. If everyone that bitched about someone not doing something decided to do something like this man the country would be a better place.

Your comment is likely the actual reason he did it, all the comments about it's the government or republicans fault. Guy didn't give a shit about the government or likely much outside the town, he was doing good to fill a void and to be a good human.
It's not the governments fault or republicans, it's the fact people would rather blame it on them instead of becoming like this man and being the change.

It's a form of regressive taxation. It exploits people's desperation and financial illiteracy.

some FYI about efforts to maintain New York City’s only freshwater river.
I saw the article pop up yesterday and it’s fun for people to joke about the Bronx and stuff but it’s actually a beautiful waterway that has seen some pretty solid restoration efforts this past decade.
