She attempted to do it, but was forced to shift to “more activity” by the lobby. I don’t know how they were able to foil those plans, it probably was the old “jobs are in danger” and “expensive” argument. Which should be irrelevant, because less sugary food creates the same amount of jobs, and one less ingredient shouldn’t make anything more expensive.

Don’t get me wrong, more activity is great. It just doesn’t change the amounts of sugar in children’s diets is far too high.

When are companies and politicians going to learn that acting like something was an error looks a lot worse than just coming out and saying we made a mistake. We were wrong. We are only human and learn from our mistakes. That looks a lot better to me than not owning it. It makes them all so untrustworthy when they are obviously lying to cover it up all the while thinking it makes them look better than the truth. No one thinks lying is the best policy. I was always taught HONESTY was the best policy. It's so patronizing to treat your customers/constituents like they are dumb.

The label "Eastern Europe" is an outdated relic of the Cold War as it does not correspond with any cultural or geographic boundaries. As an example, Greece is often not classed as "Eastern European" as it was part of the Western Bloc during the Cold War even though the Byzantine Empire was the largest cultural influence on Medieval Russia and Greece was under Ottoman rule for centuries.

Slovenia is another great example as the Yugoslavia was only part of the Eastern Bloc until 1948 when it split with the Soviet Union and was therefore spared the worst of communist rule in Europe.

Either way, this is great news. Let us hope that Slovenia can convince other ex-communist countries to follow suit.

It's definitely winning when the man in a major country wants to set the world on fire to get what he wants, and you unify every corner of the world to stop him. We will most likely end up stronger as a world, because of this. Just like we did with WW2.

I also dunno if you can say "They public were just following putins orders" to the entire country. The public wants bloodshed. They want their free Ladas. The good russians that will make a difference in the future, left Russia already or are "not a factor" anymore.
