In case anyone is not aware, this is common sense and up to this point the failure to include clergypersons has been a serious oversight.

The following individuals already fall under mandatory reporting laws in Washington:

  • Medical practitioners
  • Nurses
  • Dentists
  • Social service counselors/therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Medical examiners
  • Pharmacists
  • School personnel
  • Child care providers
  • Law enforcement officers
  • Juvenile probation officers
  • Corrections employees
  • DSHS employees
  • DCYF employees
  • Placement and liaison specialists
  • Responsible living skills program staff
  • HOPE center staff
  • State family and children's ombudsman
  • Any volunteer in the ombudsman's office
  • Adults residing with child suspected to have been severely abused

Climbed Mt Shuksan in my youth (1980). See that "ramp" going from high on the left across the mountain down to the right. That is the path of the Sulphide Glacier, which was our route. So we were upon the flanks of Mt Shuksan, looking back at Mt Baker across the valley. Every bit as gorgeous either way. But Shuksan has a bit higher claim on pure aesthetic beauty, I think :).

I might transfer to WWU next year (if I don’t make UW) after 2 years spent at an east coast college that I find doesn’t suit me, if I do I can go there often. Dunno what I was thinking, choosing that over Lewis & Clark

This can be a bigger deal if your insurance lapses (can be a big fine in states with a system that tracks that) or you get in an accident & your insurance won't cover you because it's the wrong state. Some states are absolutely insane about this stuff (Virginia is one I know is, no idea about Utah- WA is pretty lax about it in my experience) but keep all records of changing your insurance & title (old & new) & reg etc. etc. Some make you send in plates (not sure how enforced that is?) Some go after you 7 yrs from when you moved & will put a hold on your license so you can't renew & need a lawyer & a bunch of paperwork to get it corrected even though you lived in that state for less than a month oy vey.

Just get it registered & license renewed for WA - they have no idea when you got there & they honestly don't care as long as you are actively getting it registered & insured in the correct state.

I swear half the people snowshoeing had the exact same ones that REI rents out lol. REI is cheap but if you're looking to buy, look used first. They should last years and years so there's not a ton of reason to go new if it's just for casual use
