I refuse to pay more than $100ish a ticket. My concert days may be over. Fortunately, I have seen most of the bands I like, and the ones I want to see are all dying off, not paying to see some geezer that aught to have retired 30 years ago play. $300 a ticket for Muse, fuck off. I refuse. Love the Gorge, great setting, but it is also 35 miles from anywhere with a hotel. This GenXer says neener neener to Ticketmasters strongarm hold on artists. When the stadiums go empty, the prices will drop.

It is an awesome hike, though quite strenuous with 3,500 feet of gain in 3.5 miles. It’s the 3rd steepest mountain in WA. There are also climbing routes along the north face. Unfortunately the whole area will be closed until at least the beginning of 2024, due to the Bolt Creek fire. While people do base jump from the summit, it is illegal to do so. There have been accidents and several deaths.

Because Puget Sound is one of the best natural harbors on earth, so settlement focused there. Same reason why Vancouver and Victoria don't face directly onto the Pacific.

Distance, lack of infrastructure, people don't really want to live there, large part is Res. land. Did I mention distance.
