That doesn't mean the main street needs to be a parking lot.

Strong Towns has a lot of research and material on how smaller towns like this can build more economically viable communities by avoiding this type of development. Particularly relevant here: https://www.strongtowns.org/journal/2020/9/4/seven-key-differences

Hi friend, when I was younger I used to take critique personally as well. But as you get older, you will learn that they did not mean to "Attack" you in any way, constructive feedback is just that, critique. You can choose to let it eat you alive or choose to ignore it.
If you have rejection sensitivity please consider seeking help from a mental health professional if you have not already. Getting another person's perspective in my work was actually helpful for me as I continue to advance my career and grow as an artist. I apologize if I have inadvertently hurt your feelings but you must learn to manage critique and unwelcome comments. Wish you all the best and have a nice day!

My middle school teacher told me that the Incas built roads as well. Advanced societies, build roads. Thought I’d share that for some reason.

Sounds like a fun trip! Vancouver Island is great but it’s MASSIVE. I’d highly suggest either just hanging out in Victoria which is a cool town. Or skip it altogether and spend more time in the Olympics. There is literally nowhere else on Earth like the Hoh River valley, and Hurricane Ridge is epic. In my experience, everything takes longer than you think it might and I personally would rather spend a little more time at some cool places than so much time in the car.

They shut this down during covid, it's our land and I thought it was good they were there, but they left garbage, so if they're leaving waste on the lake and doing it illegally it pisses me off.

Looks like this map is picking up some trails too. You can clearly see the Wonderland Trail circumnavigating Mt. Rainier. Same deal with the dotted like going halfway around Adams, and you can see the Pacific Crest Trail almost continuously from White Pass all the way to Canada.
