I have not, but last time I did skyline lake I was able to park on the side of the road and walk to the trailhead because the ski resort lot was completely full

Yeah I’m on the Google and got the tide chart up - but all the beaches I’ve seen closer to the south are Sandy so I didn’t know if anyone knew of any little spots to check out

I know reading can be tough for some people but I think I made it clear enough that I’m just scoping spots for cool things to look at that I hadn’t seen in Michigan. I’m a biologist and avid outdoorsman - but please go off

Thanks! We have snowshoes but the problem with Skyline Lake is that you have to park in the ski resort parking lot. We won’t get there early and it’s a holiday weekend. I’m looking at Valhalla Lake, it sounds like it’s pretty flat for a quarter mile. That would be perfect. Have you done that one?

The distance is a bit of a stretch and you'd have to snowshoe in, but skyline lake is my absolute favorite winter destination at Stevens. Very good snowshoe hike and super cool spot, I haven't personally built snow shelters there but I know people who have

Last I checked it was something like 37? Pretty ridiculous.

Find a low tide! The lower the better. And a rocky beach.

I was at work in a building built on fill and it bounced rolled and cracked and we couldn’t go back for a month. Buildings in same area not on fill we’re fine

Washington wise you're in a desert of nearshore sand in Vancouver. The nearest rocky ish tide pools will be over by Ilwaco but the jetties can have extremely dangerous surf. A more natural alternative would be a long drive to La Push or even Salt Creek. You might have more opportunities in OR.
