I posted the design there first and it got a favorable response. But that didn't tell whether the people of WA would connect with it.

I don't what meaning, if any, the stars and stripes had for the Washington family, but as far as my design is concerned they are solely to signify Washington the person. It's a fairly standard approach in heraldry/vexillology for a place or institution to incorporate or adapt the arms of someone connected with it. The bigger question of course is whether signifying their namesake is something that the people of WA still want their flag to do.

What this person said, entirely. This is a great area (I’m in Woodland, same vibe), yeah it’s a little overly right wing, but it’s also a place that people bend over backwards to help their neighbors. It’s not perfect but it’s pretty close to paradise if you like the outdoors.

+1 for Weyerhaeuser St Helens Unit drive in pass or walk in pass. They go up for grabs in May. It’s like 300,000 acres of wildland access. You drive out into it for a bit and get up on high ground and you literally can’t see a building in any direction. Good times.

I worked there for about a month and lived in a motel. While there I witnessed people cooking meth in the room down from me, lots of heroin addicts, and a brutal domestic violence incident in the room next to me. Would not recommend.

Climbed both Guye Peak in the foreground, and the actual Mt Snoqualmie in the background, years ago. Mt Snoqualmie is about 7,500 feet, it is the highest peak at Snoqualmie Pass. From the far side of the summit of Mt Snoqualmie is a 700' dropoff that looks out over all the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Stunning!

In the hanging valley between Guye Peak and Mt Snoqualmie are a number of limestone caves. Very vertical and quite dangerous, only for cave experts. But interesting that they are there.

It looks fine, but George Washington has basically nothing to do with the state, and Washington DC's flag is already based on its coat of arms. I would agree that WA's flag sucks, but any update is not going to have anything to do with this.
