Frenchman Coulee is really pretty. Popular rock climbing spot with some pretty views.

It may be farther east than you are thinking and you already mentioned a few of these places, but I spent a day or two last year driving around the Palouse Hills at peak spring green season (it was early June in 2022) and was absolutely stunned at their beauty. The drive from Washtucna to Colfax was really remarkable. Palouse Falls is in the area and makes a great stop, otherwise it’s a lot of driving and taking in the scenery. I really enjoyed it. Could spend some time in Walla Walla too and then travel through the Columbia River Gorge to get back to Seattle (via Portland).

I fly my drone up here too and can see Rainer and Adams from some amazing spots, and Hood. Very happy that you were able to take those trips, I didn't have a timeframe on my return so I spent time walking around and watching the clouds move today.

Nothing really worth seeing on the east side imo (coming from a eastern wa resident)

I’ve heard Dry Falls is quite spectacular. I haven’t seen it myself yet, but it’s on my short list to see!

This is my favorite part of Washington: even a couple hundred miles away you can see our stratovolcanoes. I grew up in the tri-cities; when I could drive, I'd head up into the hills and see multiple volcanoes at once. I've also taken a lot of trips to the Blue Mountains (near the idaho border) and have seen some of fhe mountains from there.

Thanks! It's grayscale, though the original isn't much different except for a heavy blue cast and some minor touchups.

You're right, thank you for the correction, the mountain was just as amazing.

It really is, I forget too, I stopped at Wanapum North Launch site on the way back and took a nice shot and collected some driftwood, a completely different landscape just 50 miles away to the North. WA-241S is an amazing drive through some of the most beautiful ranchland I've seen, besides the Palouse and around Steptoe. We drive Snoquailmie often to go to the west side to visit family and hit the coast, it's surreal how incredible the topography is in this state within a few hours drive.

This video offers kind of an interesting perspective. Spokane is the only place east of Leavenworth that they’ve covered so far but hopefully they’ll be able to do more in the future

Beautiful. Living in Western Washington I forget how varied the landscape is.

Marblemount on SR 20 (closed now for the winter, but should open in about 6 weeks), and just west of there- Diablo Lake. And going east on 20 through Okanogan and Ferry counties, cross the Columbia on WSDOT's only inland ferry, the San Poliel, in Keller, WA. It's free, and the scenery, especially on the east side of the river, is very nice. Dry Falls State Park, on SR 17 north of Soap Lake is an amazing example of Eastern WA geological history. US 12 over White Pass is absolutely spectacular for its high mountains and deep forested valleys. Enjoy your travels.
