I get that. But history is important, and it’s important to gain an accurate portrayal of history. I mean. Even on an individual level, family history is important. If we forget or neglect to consider the history behind marginalization, then it allows us to forego changing systems or increase social mobility because we have no empathy for the struggle.
I appreciate you saying that you are for processes to eliminate those gaps though.

A little bit north of there, near the actual kilns, there is a little ledge you can sit on overhanging a cove that is one of the most magical places you can be in the world.
Sea otters, whales, and the gentle noise of the tide on a sunny day.
People take it for granted, but that spot changed my life.

I am completely for actions that increase social mobility, education for children, and eliminate those gaps. I'm just challenged by stories about historical crimes.

Ok but how do you expect people to “start a super productive business, buy some land and beat the colonizers” when the colonizers have set up systems to oppress marginalized groups of people, and intentionally under resource communities of color? You seem to ignore the fact that buying land or launching a business requires capital and if you don’t have that it’s extremely difficult.
Being able to grow “somewhat cold” on these stories is a stance of privilege because you’re not affected daily by the injustice.

Don’t worry, an obligatory “land acknowledgment” will make this all ok.

Well, it's a plains climate, so it's prone to the extreme tempature shift between summer and winter.

Depends on where you visit. If you’re going to be hanging out in a city, I’d be more worried about smoke.

Ellensburg will be your jam if you have horses. Windy from time to time. But dry, seasonal weather variation almost more "meadow-y"
Yakima is arid. Deep winters, hot summers. Also known as "The Palm Springs of Washington"
Either way - bring your checkbook.

According to Google Translate, “orcas” means “killer whales” in both Spanish and English, “horcas” is the Spanish word for “gallows”, and “horcasitas” is the Spanish word for “little forks”. So that’s interesting!
Also, there is a concert pianist named Juan Pablo Horcasitas. Given what I have just learned, I can’t look at his photo without imagining he has tuning forks on hand to be absolutely positively thoroughly certain the piano is perfectly tuned immediately prior to each of his performances. 😄
