Gig Harbor is the nicest place on your list. Tons of young families, good schools but probably most expensive place on your list too

I always liked those old mud flaps for trucks that are the same style as the Washington: The Evergreen State sign

That looks great and I fully support it. Reminds me of the OR Crater Lake plates but cooler. But when you said a vintage plate, I thought you meant something with a plain background in simple colors. I would love if the LeMay one were green, like you said.
The other one I really like that is available right now is the Washington Apples one. Really simple design and supports a great cause.

When out of the area, your best bet may be a rental agency, which will not be awesome. Good luck to you.

University Place is a nice area - has great parks like Chambers Bay, has both Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods (a rarity in this area), and is close to Tacoma for events and restaurants. Steilacoom is much smaller and is a drive from a lot of amenities. Unless you are military, then Steilacoom is one of the best areas near post.

We have a great community college in Pasco (Tri-Cities), Columbia Basin College. Branch campus of Washington State University just a few miles away, if you want to continue your education. Not sure of rental situation but there are on campus dorms. https://housing.columbiabasin.edu/

East Olympia is a great neighborhood for a young family imo. Gig Harbor is probably the “nicest” area you mentioned but nothing really for kids. Olympia has a great children’s museum and parks. There are a lot of bums in Olympia if that freaks you out. University Place is pretty sad and grimy. Lacey is fine but pretty much just a bland suburb. Olympia has the best schools of the bunch I think. Good luck.

If It's clear and yella, you've got juice there, fella. If it's tangy and brown, you're in cider town.

Ruston is Tacoma ghetto, but trying hard to improve.UP, Lacey, and Steilacoom are all okay, just stay away from apartment complexes. Like a mile away at least if possible.

That plate is cool, but I’d roll with the Mount Saint Helens Institute plate, instead. Better cause than LeMay and shows Southern Washington Pride.
EDIT: which looks like it’s less than 500 (non-binding!) signatures from being a reality! Sign up everyone!

Unfortunately I think finding anything in those areas would be really difficult in that price range. You could try a Facebook group for housing in that area and you might get lucky

The LeMay Museum just sent a design to legislature for vote. Not sure how it turned out though, but the plates looked great. Hope it passes.

Shoreline cc or edmonds cc are the ones I’m looking to attend so anything in or around that area would be great

Unlikely in most areas. Can you be a bit more specific about what part of Washington?

Washington needs a good vintage plate like the Pacific Wonderland Oregon plate and the black California plate.
It should be green.
