Reply to I-90 or Highway 2? by Novel-Art3412
Highway 2 is more of a rural drive, I-90 like driving I-5 in the mountains.
Highway 2 has Leavenworth, touristy things to do or stop to look at.
Both drives have beautiful scenery though. If it's a meandering drive I go highway 2, if it's focused, I need to get there, I go I-90.

Highway 2 is more scenic, I-90 is more reliable

The Kenmore Drive In. There were some "firsts" there for me as a teen. I remember Jaws playing. The lineup to get in spilled out to Bothell Way for every showing. Sometimes you would miss one and have to see the next.

That TV shop looks like where you'd go to buy exotic magazines. For some reason, the half window is sketchier than the one with drapes.

I don’t go back this far but I will say that I miss Spock’s Video.

Ah, that's the one, just past the Safeway.
It looks a lot different now, but yeah, that's definitely the same building.

No but I do remember the drive-in theater in Kenmore. Saw Superman there! 🤣

It's between the Subway and Bank of America, on the north side of Bothell Way

redfin is still the best website to use. Unless you buy a home then you need a real-estate agent.
To get anything less than 900 is unheard of. You're lucky to get a dingy one room one bed studio apartment if even that.

Really, where is it at? It looks vaguely familiar, but I can't quite place it.

Grew up in Bothell starting in 1955. Does anybody here remember Bob's Fried Chicken with the huge tent awning with the fire pit right there in Kenmore?

Dupont and South Hill. Traffic sucks no matter where you are, but it's the worst on the I5 so I stay away from the Olympia and Tacoma area

Yes! And the barber shop is a salon. Never thought I’d see good old K-town on this sub

Trying something a bit different. Instead of sunrise and landscapes I tried focusing on textures and details.
Sand, rocks, reflections, waves...it's a challenge since it's constantly changing.
This is what I feel are the most interesting 13 images, but I cut out 18 more. There might be a couple good ones in here.

Really it’s best to check right before you leave. You never know when there’s an accident or a closure. Assuming you’re coming back you can also make a loop out of it if you want to see different scenery.
