This. Is. Fucked. You cannot as a firearm owner be throwing rounds around at a popular recreational area, at one of the most popular times of the year. Thats before we get to the fact it was at night. It gives every legal firearm owner a bad name, and he couldn't even legally buy it at 20. I dont know that Ive ever seen such an atrocious investigation. At this point, a third party investigation needs to be happening lead by a different sheriffs department (rooting for King County on that one). The Lewis County Sheriffs Office needs to be held accountable for their mishandling of the case, and those members to be reprimanded.

As I was reading this, I was thinking that someone is either family or good friends with these murderers. Would love to see the Feds step in. Because this is just a cluster f*ck now. His family needs to sue Lewis County sheriff department. Maybe a wrongful death suit too. Good family my Aunt Fanny.

There's no Everett ferry, you probably took the Edmonds-Kingston ferry, then on 104 came to this sweeping downhill curve that opens up the view to the forest on both sides. I've driven this many, many times, the Google Streetview images do not show just how dramatic it is as you round the curve.

The private forest lands out there have signs like you remember, kind of like the old Burma Shave signs. They say when the forest was last logged, replanted, and when it will be logged again, with cute messages about how they are preserving the landscape.

You could pretend you're tourists and do all the local sights, maybe for the first time alone without out of towners?

Space needle, pioneer square, Pike place, whatever things are already your favorites to show other people. But focus on actually enjoying it first hand, if you never have.

You could go full cheesy mode and do the stuff tourists love, like flagship Starbucks and such, or enjoy being your own local tour guide and make use of your inside knowledge of hidden gems
